Firsts: Sh*te that happened before other sh*te happened.
Today: Ryan Cano’ Firsts! This time, we examine what inspired Ryan Cano, owner of The Loyalty Firm,
a management and publicity company based right here in Austin. TLF’s
roster currently includes two extremely talented local bands, The Boxing Lesson and My Education -- catch the former at Stubb’s (Inside) tonight and check out the latter on Saturday at Emo’s (Outside).
1st favorite song: I remember music always being around but I
don’t think I started formulating favorites until I was maybe 3 years
old. I remember loving Michael Jackson a bunch. "Beat it" may have been my first favorite song. But I also remember loving Duran Duran's “Rio” and “Hungry Like The Wolf” shortly after.

Catch Four Tet at Mohawk on Saturday, February 20. Tickets are available here.

From The Mind Of Adi Residency Series Update
As announced previously, From The Mind Of Adi kicks off its residency series next month at The Mohawk. She Sir will headline both dates in March -- they will be supported by Spoiled Royals and Persian Wars on the 3rd, and by The Authors and Smoke and Feathers on the 31st. Doors will open at 6 p.m. for these early shows, with bands scheduled to take the stage at 7, 8, and 9 respectively. Bryan Keplesky’s poster art will be displayed at the kick-off event on the 3rd; Dániel Perlaky will showcase his designs on the 31st.
uLOVEi has partnered with me on this endeavor and will be filming the show on the 3rd. We’re planning on doing a short video recap with performance footage, interviews, and any other fun stuff we can catch on tape. You’ll want to get there early for complimentary Lone Star courtesy of Birds Barbershop and food from Frank. In addition to the all the fabulous drinks they typically offer, The Mohawk bar will be serving up some intriguing Daily Juice fueled concoctions. I’m also glad and grateful to have the support of my friends at Austinist as I get ready to launch this new series.
