Here's how to watch Transmission Television. Use the search function to find a band video, or browse through our colossal catalogue of independent music page by page. Pop some popcorn. When you find a video that you dig, click on the Transmission arrow. It will start to play and you can get your jam on. If you want to share it, click on the title at the top of the post. Now you have your link to copy and paste. When you are done, find the next video and do it all over again. Loads of amazing vids to choose from. Enjoy.

From The Mind Of Adi: Hard Stuff presents Eagle Claw [Red 7 / May 2011]
I am pleased to debut the first installment of Hard Stuff, a new series focusing on the metal, hardcore, and punk bands that grace the stage at the many fine rock ‘n’ roll establishments in town. The project is a collaboration between Austin Music Weekly, beloved venues like Red 7, Piggy, and myself. All of us firmly believe in the vitality of the aforementioned genres and feel these unsung heroes deserve to be noticed. After all, why should dance-pop get all the attention?

- The latest installment of Knuckle Rumbler’s Vs. series is set for April 30th at Scoot Inn -- RSVP for Phunkavelli (2Pac vs. George Clinton) via Do512 to get in for three bucks.
- Two Matchsticks, the upcoming full-length from Andrew Kenny’s The Wooden Birds, drops on June 7th on Barsuk -- stream the title track via MTV Hive; catch the band at The Mohawk on July 20th.
- The Boxing Lesson has recruited Frenchie Smith (Frenchie Smith Records) to produce its forthcoming Muerta EP – stream “Darker Side Of The Moog” via SoundCloud.

- Pure X (formerly Pure Ecstasy) will release their debut full-length Pleasure this July on Acéphale. Meanwhile, the band’s You’re In It Now EP has been re-released with a bonus track “Back Where I Began” – download it here; purchase the full EP here.
- Quality local shows on the horizon include Electric Touch at The Mohawk this Monday, Hard Proof Afrobeat at the same venue on the 22nd, (Yelle after-show), and Grammy winners Grupo Fantasma at The Paramount on the 30th.

- Two of Nacional Records’ most prized possessions are heading to Austin this month -- The Pinker Tones stop in at Beauty Bar on the 17th while Los Amigos Invisibles perform at ACL Live at the Moody Theater on the 19th. Check out the former’s video for “Tokyo” here and the latter’s video for “Como Sabes Tu” here.

New Music
- Vivian Girls’ third album Share The Joy is set to be released on April 12th on Polyvinyl -- download the lead single “I Heard You Say” here. Catch the band in concert at Emo’s on April 28th with the Black Lips.
- Toro y Moi’s Underneath The Pine record drops on February 22nd on Carpark Records -- stream “New Beat” via Soundcloud, check out the video for “Still Sound” below, and expect to catch Toro y Moi live a few times during SXSW. A split 7" with Cloud Nothings is due March 29th.
- The Dodos’ new single “Black Night” can be streamed via Pitchfork; the new album No Color hits streets abroad on March 14th (Wichita) and in the U.S. on the 15th (Frenchkiss). And yes, the band will be in town for SXSW.
- Grab Orión’s new EP Animus here; the local DJ spins at The ND’s Super Bowl shindig this Sunday.
- Former Austinite (now based in Seattle) Ian Moore previews material off his seventh full-length El Sonido Nuevo (Spark & Shine) at The Continental Club on March 5th and at Waterloo Records (at 5 p.m.) on the 6th. The new effort, recorded with his current band the Lossy Coils, lands March 8th, just in time for some more shows in Austin during SXSW week, no doubt.
