Confused? Lost? Don't worry; we're here to help you maximize your experience on the Transmission site. Read on, friend. You're now a part of the Transmission community.
Transmission Entertainment is an Austin-based booking & promotion company. We do concerts. Shows. We're music geeks.
This is our homepage, where the Transmission community has a space to gather, check out new content and see what Transmission shows are coming up. We pride ourselves on not only booking great shows by the bands we love, but also placing them at the appropriate venues and in front of the appropriate audience. Relevance. Quality, not quantity. No filler. Just the good stuff. The stuff you want. We understand the new market of demanding music consumers because we're a company run by demanding music consumers. We're just like you. We get it.
For those of you new to the website, here's a quick run down of how to use it.
We'll start at the top of the homepage, which looks like this:
Calendar: This is the complete list of all upcoming shows. For each show, you'll find informative content that allows you to preview the artist in question, as well as a direct ticket link. If tickets are sold at the door, or if the show is free, the ticket link will let you know.
Features: Here's where we've placed the many unique offerings on the Transmission site. The Signal. Reverse Reviews. Contests. Fun Fun Fun Fest. White Denim. Gorilla of the Month. Check it out.
Sights, Sounds, Words: Here's where you can watch videos, listen to mp3s and read new blogs from our music writers who contribute on a daily basis. Check out our music player for mp3s on the site; it plays all the songs on a page. When the page's songs are done, simply click to the next page, and your ears will thank you.
On the left side of the homepage, our list of upcoming shows on the Calendar are listed.
Now move to the right side of the homepage. Here you'll find the following:
- Search function: The search function allows you to find anything on the website, based on its tag.
- Mailing list signup: Below the search engine, you can also enter your email address to receive our monthly newsletter. It's how we stay in touch with the Transmission community. No spam here, for the simple reason that spam sucks.
- Club logos: Below the mailing list signup, you'll see the logos of the venues that we exclusively book in Austin. Click on each, and you'll see all things related to each venue, including upcoming shows and video content taken from past shows.
Go all the way to the bottom of the homepage. Here you'll find:
- Friends & Enemies: A list of partners with whom we work with on a regular basis. Check out their websites. They're all solid.
- Everything Else: Here you'll find RSS feeds, links to our MySpace and Facebook sites, photos taken by people at our shows (tag your photos on Flickr with "transmit socially" and they automatically go here), our "Manifesto" (i.e., who we are and what we believe), "Submissions" (bands, take special note here), info on our venues, and more. If you want to contact us directly, click on "Contact."
