Today: Jen Rea’s Firsts! This time, we examine what inspired Jenifer Rea, fashion designer and DJ, and one half of the lovable duo that is Team Fabrication. - 1st favorite song: It may have been “Dinah Moe Humm” by Frank Zappa. Ha! I was too young to understand what he was talking about but my Dad played it a lot!
- 1st favorite musician or band: Rick Springfield
- 1st vinyl purchased: with my own money? Oh geez. I think it was the 45 of Seven Year Ache by Rosanne Cash
- 1st album recorded on a cassette tape: this was a double - one side of a 90 minute Maxell was The Smiths - Meat Is Murder and the other side was The Cure - Head On The Door
- 1st cassette tape purchased: I think it was Arena by Duran Duran
- 1st concert attended: Rick Springfield with Quarterflash opening! wOOt!
- 1st concert attended: Spiritualized at La Zona Rosa
- 1st CD purchased: Triple threat yo! The Buzzcocks box-set.
- 1st album downloaded: Wow, maybe it was No Kill No Beep Beep by Q and Not U
- 1st fashion show: The first fashion show I did was in 2002 in Phoenix. It was called Deconstructing Faschionism. I moved to Austin a few months later.
- 1st "something" I didn't ask you about: The first time I realized I'd be a dork for life ... upon finishing this questionnaire and looking left ... to the Rick Springfield poster that still hangs over my bed.
