Today: Steve Brooks’ Firsts! This time, we examine what inspired Torche singer and guitarist Steve Brooks. Torche performs on Sunday, November 8th at this year’s Fun Fun Fun Fest -- the band’s blistering metal anthems can be enjoyed at the Black Stage at 6:15 p.m.
- 1st favorite song: "My Sharona" by The Knack.
- 1st favorite musician or band: KISS.
- 1st vinyl purchased: KISS - Alive II.
- 1st album recorded on a cassette tape: Ozzy Osbourne - Diary of a Madman.
- 1st cassette tape purchased: Ozzy Osbourne - Bark At The Moon, I think.
- 1st concert attended: Iron Maiden & Yngwie Malmsteen 1987.
- 1st CD purchased: Death - Scream Bloody Gore.
- 1st album downloaded: I still haven't downloaded a full album.
- First personal band: unnamed thrash band when I was 14.
- 1st recording: My cousins and I on a boombox playing our song "Farts of
America." I think I was 8?
- 1st live performance: Cavity, 1992.
- 1st national (or international) tour: Floor US tour 1996.
- 1st "something" I didn't ask you about: 1st guitar: A black KRAMER.
