Today: Erin Ivey’s Firsts! This time, we examine what inspired local singer/songwriter extraordinaire Erin Ivey. Catch her live at The Pecan Street Festival tomorrow at 1pm on the Trinity Stafe.

- 1st favorite song: Irene Cara, “Flashdance / What A Feeling” - I still love that soundtrack.
- 1st favorite musician or band: Boston - “Foreplay” into “Long Time?” Please.
- 1st vinyl purchased: Madonna’ Like A Virgin & Bon Jovi’s Slippery When Wet.
- 1st album recorded on a cassette tape: Michael Jackson’s Thriller
- 1st concert attended: Debbie Gibson.
- 1st personal band: Imaginary, I was 5. We were very successful.
- 1st recording: “HalfLight,” during a nocturnal weekend in NYC with Sean McCarthy - I can't remember the year.
- 1st live performance: Cactus Cafe open mic 1998ish.
- 1st national (or international) tour: Fall 2009.
