THIS WEDNESDAY: SUPPORT LIVE MUSIC IN AUSTIN

Live Music Task Force meeting Oct 29,  City Hall, 7:30pm

Time to finally put into action the most progressive music legislation we have seen in years.  Believe it or not, there are people in this town that don't want to see these protections for music put into action. Last I checked, this wasnt the 'Live Condo Capital of the World' and we need to make sure we protect the reason that we all live here.  But its going to take individual effort.

Your support is needed.  This can't be solved from a laptop or from a cell phone.  If you believe in Live Music in Austin and you want to see it protected for the long term, it is important that you take 1 hour of your time on Wednesday night and show your support for Live Music, Musicians, and Stakeholders in Austin.  We all need to show up live and in person to make a difference this time.  One hour of your time could mean years of a great and growing Live Music Culture for all of us.

The task force recomendations are here.  Read all about em.

Traditionally, music has let others dictate the trajectory of this beloved culture, simply because we werent organized enough and they are.  It doesnt mean that music wasnt and isnt right about the need to do something, it just means that music hasnt been properly heard by the powers that be.

Very rarely, will we ask you to do something other than rock.  But in this climate and these political times, it is imperative that we have one loud voice, that we make a change for this city, and that we support the musicians that we love so much.

We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday.  Thanks for all that you do to support music in Austin.  Directions.
