Hello friends and SXSW survivors,
Metal Dave Productions presents a
Friday, April 3 Cancer Benefit concert at Red 7 (611 E. 7th Street) on
behalf of Austin musician and music-scene mainstay, Houston Ritcheson,
who is fighting cancer. The concert, which also marks Ritcheson's
birthday, will be headlined by the Sons of Hercules with special guests New Disaster, the Flash Boys and Born to Lose. Door proceeds ($6 adults/$8 minors) will be donated to Ritcheson to help defray medical costs.
Ritcheson has been a fixture in
Austin's punk-rock scene for nearly two decades as a member of The
Contradicks, Lower Class Brats, Belligerent 86 and Brewtality Inc. He
also is well-known for his long-term employment at numerous Austin
music venues including the Back Room and Headhunters (he also
christened yours truly "Metal Dave" nearly 15 years ago, thereby
rendering my legal name obsolete)
