Presenting Lucy the Poodle's 2nd Annual British Invasion Party featuring Blackheart Records' Girl in a Coma!  Celebrating the first and second wave of UK Sound PLUS British treats, tributes, history and more!  Bring your Bloody Valentine!

Lucy the Poodle Productions and Transmission Entertainment have teamed up once again to bring you the 2nd Annual British Invasion Party on Saturday February, 13th at Red 7 starting at 9pm.  Back by popular demand, this English-themed/pseudo-Valentine's Day shindig will pay tribute to the great British acts that shaped our history, music, society, and culture-- from early breakthrough acts such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Kinks to 2nd wave acts of the 70's and 80's like The Smiths, The Slits, Depeche Mode, and The Sex Pistols.

Topping off the night will be all female garage-rock/punk trio from San Antonio, Girl in a Coma.  As the new face of Joan Jett's Blackheart Records, GIAC (named for the 1980's Smiths hit, Girlfriend in a Coma) have gained national and international acclaim touring with the likes of Morrissey, The Toadies, and Tegan and Sara, among others.  The band's powerful live set is intensely polished with a grungy punk-rock edge and singer Nina Diaz' unique and distinguishable voice has been compared to Patsy Cline, Bjork and Morrissey himself.  If you've been wanting to see this band for a while, wait no longer as this will be their last stop in Austin before they head back to the road with indie art-rockers Xiu Xiu.

In addition to a full lineup of Brit-influenced talent (some of the bands will be treating us with special tributes to their favorite UK based acts) there will be British treats, sweets, visuals, history and more.  Have your photo taken at our Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Photo booth!  Wear an outlandish British-themed costume!  Bring your Bloody Valentine -- or find one here if you don't have one!
